Shove Off — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026 (section 9, how to delete your data, added)
Shove Off is a puzzle game made by OneKateTap, an independent developer. This policy explains what data the game uses and why. Contact: [email protected]
1. What we collect ourselves: anonymous gameplay statistics
The game has no accounts and no sign-in. Your progress, stars, settings and purchases are stored only on your device.
If you allow it, the game sends us anonymous gameplay statistics so we can make the levels fairer and fix problems:
- which levels you start, win, lose, restart or leave, with the number of turns, taps and stars, and how long a level took;
- when a session starts and ends, and which screen is open;
- how ads and purchases go (for example "an ad was shown between runs", "Remove ads was bought", "an ad failed to load") — never payment details;
- settings you change in the game (sound, theme and so on), and error messages if the game crashes;
- the app version, your phone's model and operating-system version.
Each install of the game gets a random ID (for example 3f9c0a1b…) made on your phone; it identifies the install, not you. We do not collect your name, email, advertising ID, contacts or location, and we do not combine this data with any other data about you. The statistics are not used for advertising and are not sold or shared.
Who processes it: PostHog Inc., our analytics provider, acting as our processor under a data processing agreement. The data is stored in PostHog's EU Cloud (Frankfurt, Germany). We have set PostHog to discard your IP address and not to look up your location from it. The connection is encrypted (HTTPS).
When it is on:
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland: only after you tap "Share stats" on the question the game shows at first launch. Until then nothing is sent and no ID is created.
- Everywhere else: it is on by default.
- Everywhere: you can turn it off at any time in Settings → "Share anonymous gameplay stats". Turning it off stops the sending and deletes everything not yet sent from your phone.
How long it is kept: 12 months on PostHog's servers (the retention of our PostHog plan), then deleted automatically. If that period ever changes, this policy will say so before it does.
Deleting it: Settings → "Delete my analytics data" deletes the ID and any unsent statistics on your phone, and the game starts over with a new, unlinked ID. To erase what was already sent, email [email protected] with your analytics ID (shown in Settings); we delete all events with that ID within 30 days.
Legal basis (EU/UK GDPR): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland; elsewhere our legitimate interest in improving the game (Art. 6(1)(f)), with the switch in Settings to object at any time. Storing the ID on your phone in the EEA follows the consent you give on the first-launch question (ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3)).
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect:
- your device's advertising ID;
- your IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- device and app information (model, OS version, language, app version);
- how you interact with ads.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before any personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options. On iPhone, the game asks for permission to track before using your advertising ID; you can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
How Google uses this data: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Legal basis (EU/UK GDPR): personalised ads are shown only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)); non-personalised ads rely on our legitimate interest in funding a free game (Art. 6(1)(f)). Google may process this data outside the EEA; Google relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for such transfers.
US state privacy rights (including California CCPA/CPRA): ad-related data collected by Google through the game may count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising under some US state laws. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Privacy options ("Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information"); after that, Google serves only restricted, non-personalised ads. The anonymous gameplay statistics of section 1 are not sold or shared: PostHog processes them only on our behalf (a "service provider"). We do not sell personal information in any other way, and we do not knowingly sell or share data of users under 16.
3. Purchases
In-app purchases (such as Remove Ads) are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your payment details. The store tells the game only which items you own, so your purchases can be restored.
4. Children
Shove Off is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
5. Data security, retention and deletion
Game data stays in the app's private storage on your device; other apps cannot read it, and we keep no copy of it. It is kept until you delete the game, which removes it completely. Anonymous gameplay statistics, if you allow them, are kept as described in section 1. Data collected by Google for advertising is stored and retained under Google's policies (see the links above); it is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
6. Your rights
The only data we hold is the anonymous gameplay statistics of section 1, linked to a random ID rather than to you. You can stop them (Settings → "Share anonymous gameplay stats"), unlink them (Settings → "Delete my analytics data"), or ask us for a copy or for their erasure by emailing [email protected] with your analytics ID. For data collected by Google for advertising, use Google's tools at https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy or contact Google. Deleting the game removes all game data from your device. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, uodo.gov.pl).
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.

9. Delete your data
Shove Off has no account, so there is nothing to close. Your data lives in three places, and each one is cleared separately:
- Game data on your phone (progress, stars, settings): uninstall the game. This removes all of it.
- Anonymous gameplay statistics: open the game, go to Settings and tap "Delete my analytics data". This deletes the analytics ID and any unsent statistics on your phone. To also erase what was already sent, first copy your analytics ID from Settings, then email it to [email protected] with the subject "Delete my data". We delete every event with that ID within 30 days and reply when it is done.
- Advertising data collected by Google: reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (on Android, search Settings for "Ads"; on iPhone, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking), and use Google's tools at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.
